• Our year-end banquet is Tuesday, 11 May. It is a catered affair at the church. Festivities will begin at 6:00 PM.
• The next N4C convention has a website in place: http://n4clacrosse2010.com/. Dates are September 16 – 19 in LaCrosse, WI.

Old Business:
• SCCC show at the Sioux City Art Center.
• Information is available in the January newsletter.
• Prints need to be delivered to the Art Center on Friday, 19 March or Saturday, 20 March.
• The exhibit will run from 27 March through 30 April.
• Print requirements
• Two entries per photographer
• Black frame no larger than 16 x 20
• Print must be under glass.
• Wire hanger on the back adjusted to 2 inches from the top of the frame
• Photographer’s name and print title must be on the back of the print.
• The Art Center will hang our work.
• Name and title tags will be prepared by the Art Center
• E-mail your name, title of the print, and print price (or not-for-sale) to Barbara Huculak huculab@witcc.edu before 1 March.
• If for sale, remember that the Art Center gets 30% of the sale price. Adjust your price accordingly.
• Show theme is Urban Landscapes of Siouxland
• We are using a very liberal definition of “urban” and “landscape”.
• We consider many of the small towns around Siouxland as “urban”.
• There are many green areas within Siouxland that may be used for landscapes, such as Bacon Creek or Sioux City Prairie.
• Reception for the show.
• Barbara Ann, Bob G. and Carl H. will spearhead a reception committee for the show.
• We may be able to piggyback with a reception for another show at the Art Center.
• We’ll check the feasibility of it first then see how much interest there is with the general membership. We will need to coordinate dates and food.
New Business:
• 2011 SCCC show at the SC Art Center.
• There was much discussion about a theme. Some ideas were:
• Look at the Iowa State Fair topics and borrow from their list
• A Day in the Life of Siouxland
• Photos of Sioux City and Woodbury County public servants at their jobs. We would need to coordinate with their supervisors.
• Variations of previous themes of “round” and “red”.
• People of Siouxland
• Some were uncomfortable with the legalities of street versus portrait photography for display at the Art Center. Would we need a model release for the work?
• Some of the other suggested topics also involve people photography.
• The discussion left a better feeling about a “People of Siouxland” theme but more work is required to provide better guidelines.
• If photographers are concerned about their submitted work, then the print should be marked as “Not For Sale”.
• If the subject is underage, then there should be a signed release from a parent or guardian.
• This will be a busy summer for Siouxland with the start of RAGBRAI and other annual events like Awesome Biker Nights, Art Splash, River-Cade, Riverssance, and Saturday in the Park. These are some great opportunities for people photography.
Program:
• Scott Bricker presented his view of macro photography.

More changes in International Club Print Competition (ICPC)starting February, 2010
There is NO Enrollment Fee, however you still need to fill out the Enrollment Form.
Basically there are no other changes in the rules, the same for host guide lines, judge’s instruction & judging. I have changed the forms to reflect the NO FEE. Everything else has remained the same Including the Awards.
Categories: Five including Creative Altered Reality (CAR) Prints.
Large Monochrome Prints (LM) No larger than 16X20 including MatLarge Color Prints (LC) No larger than 16X20 including MatSmall Monochrome Prints (SM) No larger than 96 sq. including MatSmall Color Prints (SC) No larger than 96 sq. including MatCAR Prints will accept small or large prints, Color & Monochrome.
Mounted prints will be acceptable only from USA & Canada however un-mounted prints are preferred. Prints from foreign countries are to be un-mounted only. The thought behind un-mounted prints is to help reduce shipping expenses. You may put to rest the idea that un-mounted prints do not compete well against mounted. This remark has been made to me in the past and it has been proven wrong.
Clubs that take advantage of the no return of un-mounted prints that are to be destroyed will save even more. If their prints place, the placing prints will be mailed to the ICPC Director and the cost picked up by PPD. This is only for prints not to be returned. For more information go the PSA Website under Divisions, Pictorial Print Click here: PPD International Club Print Competition . Or go the Club Services Website and check under Interclub Competitions Click here: Photographic Society of America (PSA): Club Services .
Please contact the ICPC Director for more information. A CD will be supplied with the needed forms and competition information. If you call leave a message, it will be returned ASAP.
Thank you,Ed Gervais, APSAICPC Director541-997-5864

New Business:
• Mike Walsh wanted to know if there were any objections to moving the end-of-year banquet to a Tuesday. We had no objections as long as the church would be available.
• We will need to order new award ribbons for the club. We need to perform an inventory at the next meeting so an order can be placed.
• When the 2-1/4 projector was fired up it literally began smoking from the area of the on/off switch.
• It was shut down, unplugged and examined. No loose wires or connections were noted in the quick review.
• There was an accumulation of dust throughout the inside. Does anyone have a small container of compressed air we could use to clean it out?
• The projector worked fine for the rest of the review.
