Program Night 5 Guests
Vice President Paula Warp called the meeting to order at 7:34 PM.
Announcements:
Thanks to everyone who made the Christmas Party a great success last month!
Sioux City Camera Club photo exhibit at the Art Center in March. The subject is Round or Circular.
One (1) print per photographer.
Use a thin black metal frame no larger than 16x20 inches.
Prints may be flush to the frame or a matte can be used.
Mattes may be of any color.
The print should be under glass.
Put a price on the print when you turn it in.
All of the works are for sale and the Art Center gets a cut so mark the price accordingly.
If the print is not for sale then set the price for the likes of either Bill Gates or Warren Buffet to be able to afford.
The Art Center will do name tags.
Have we paid our N4C and PSA dues? Have we paid our donation to the church for the use of their facilities?

New Business:
Bob Gillespie announced the possibility of a Sioux City Camera Club exhibit in the Third Floor Gallery (the Big One) in the Art Center. This would be a JURIED exhibit put together by a CURATOR.
Digital files are submitted and the curator/juror(s) tell you which one(s) they like and want to have in the exhibit.
Prints would need to be 16x20 or larger.
White mattes
Framing to be performed by the Art Center at a cost to the photographer of $100 to $150 per print.
The Art Center would hang the work
The Art Center would handle lighting, tags, advertising and publications.
If a print is sold the Art Center would get a cut of the selling price.
SCCC would need to decide on a theme for the exhibit.
SCCC would sponsor a reception for the exhibit.
Program:
Jim Hollander on Compensation and Bracketing.
View & Review:
Several examples of macrophotography were shown and discussed.
Forum:
Question: How do you align photos on matte board?
Use straight pins at the corners of the print.
Pencil marks
Use a spray adhesive for post-it note-type stickiness. Lightly stick one corner, then two and check the alignment. Once properly aligned, roll over the print to make it stay.
When scanning images it is best to tweak them for color, contrast, etc. before theyre scanned. Use the scanning software for this. This process seems to make a better image with less fuss than tweaking things after the scan.
When printing at Sams Club make your print image a little smaller than 11x14 inches. Their software/printer combination seems to crop a little too tightly to the edge of the paper.
Adjourn at 9:25 PM.
