You have probably heard that SCCC has taken the N4C honors for top large club of the year for a third time in a row, announced at the N4C banquet in Sioux Falls. If you were unable to attend you missed a fine event with good programs. Ask the numerous SCCC members that attended for the details. And, congratulations go to Chuck Peterson for his N4C award. <''>

The new non-profit Zion Canyon Field Institute in Zion National Park, Utah, is pleased to announce two upcoming outdoor photography workshops. We would also like to offer a 20% discount on the fees for these classes to members of the Sioux City Camera Club.

The SCCC meeting schedule has been voted and approved for the 2002 holidays. September and October's first meeting are standard, but a change was made for the 2nd October meeting to allow two weeks between meetings and accomodate the November and December holidays. Please mark your calendars for Thursdays as follows:
September 26, October 10 and 24, November 7 and 21, and December 5 and 19.
The DUE DATES for September competitions are:
Prints - by Noon Saturday, 9/14, and Slides - by Wednesday, 9/18.
There is a tight schedule due to the N4C convention in Sioux Falls on the weekend.

The club judged the Sioux City Library Photo contest entries at our first meeting. SCCC members are invited to the winners' awards presentation at the Sioux City Library on Monday, Sept. 30 at 7 pm.

The new season of SCCC is only a week away. Don't forget the first meeting of the new year next Thursday, 9/12. Please bring checkbooks or money to renew your bargain membership with the Sioux City Camera Club. Dues remain at $15 for individual and $22.50 for family memberships. The cost is approximately $1 per meeting which includes educational programs, superb displays of photography, unlimited advice from experienced and professional members, hands-on for new technology and classic, free photography judging contests, friendships, and many special announcements and opportunities. This has to be the biggest bargain in existance for anyone interested in photography, not to mention the snacks at the meetings!
