SCCC
May 2001 Sioux Scope
Meeting: BANQUET May 10 Hamilton Inn 6:30
Program: Larry Crabb
Basic Concepts of Printing Photos Digitally
From the Editor:
I have just a few notes to pass along that I have recieved from club
members. I am going to enter them here just as I recieved them. Here goes.
FOR SALE
I wonder if anyone in the camera club might be interested in a
Nikon990--purchased new 3 months ago--I want to sell it to purchase one
with interchangeable lenses and that will handle more like a 35 mm. I will
sell it with all of the cards, card reader, 3 sets of batteries and
charger, etc. for $900.00.

SHOREBIRDS
If you're looking for shorebirds in the next couple weeks, I
suggest Trecy's Slough north of Jackson, Neb. I just checked it out this
evening and found it to have plenty of water and open mud flats. It was
too dark to see if any are currently present, but that could change daily.
Travel into Jackson on US-20, turn north at the Catholic Church and
continue northward for about 3.5 miles. You should be at a site with water
on both sides of the road and two roads going westward from which you can
view the water to the west.

PHOTO JOURNALISM
The Club has done very well in the photojournalism category. But
as the lottery slogan goes, you can't win if you don't play. This is a
call for new entries in PJ Prints and slides. The rules are simple:
1. Prints have a max size of 8 x 12.. They may be done
commercially. They need not be mounted but usually show better if they
are. They must contain a caption or headline (put some thought into this
since it can impact the scoring). May be in color or B&W.
2. Slides must also have a caption.
As you travel this summer, take some PJ shots. Remember they need
not be entered in SCCC. Have a great summer and happy shooting. Any
questions call Bob Gillespie at 233-1143.
SUMMER GET TOGETHER
If anyone has an idea for a summer get together they can contact
me or let me know at the year-end banquet. Steve Peterman
Thats it . It 's been fun doing the newsletter this year. I hope to see all
of you at the year-end banquet on Thursday, May 10. I also wish each and
every one of you a fun summer and happy shooting. Tom Atkinson
