From the Editor:
Daphne and I headed out early Saturday morning to play a little
tennis. It took us about 10 minutes to decide it was a better hot chocolate
and coffee morning than a playing tennis morning, so we packed our rackets
and headed off to the Daily Grind. Much to our suprise we found there a
wonderful display of color photos by James Braun. I would urge all of you
to stop by and see this newest display of photos by one of our camera club
members.
Since we our discussing club members and the shows they are
presenting, let us not forget Randall Williams and his slide show
"Travels With Vickie and Randy" at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center,
Thursday, April 5. The program begins at 7:30 p.m.
It's great to see club members showing their works outside of club.
We should all make a concerted effort to support these members and the
people that make their shows possible.
Two More Quick Notes:
Don't forget the photo exchange program with Sioux City's Sister
City, Yamanashi City, Japan. They are looking for photographs, size up to
11 x 17, categories are; festivals and events, landscapes and monuments,
industry and agriculture, daily life (school/work). Photographs need not
be matted or mounted but they do need a caption and name of photographer
and/or occupation. For futher information contact Charlie Kuester at
279-6343.
Mark your calendar for Springbrook (Iowa) May 4-6, the "mini" N4C
convention. It includes seminars, board meeting, early morning bird/nature
hike, bicycle ride on Friday morning. Cost is $80/person for meals and
room at the dormitory. Just registration and meals is $60. For more
information contact Steve Peterman at 605-356-3558. -- Tom Atkinson
Year-End Banquet
The year end banquet will be held May 10 at the Hamilton Inn at
6:30 pm. Please feel free to bring a guest. The dinner menu is broasted
chicken, tossed salad, garden fresh vegtables, twice baked potatoes, coffee
or Tea, rolls, butter and sherbert. Cost is $11.60 which includes tax and
tip. Please make checks out to S.C.C.C. and give to Jim Hollander or Larry
Crabb at the meeting on April 26 or at the dinner. Jim would like to have
a head count for the dinner by the meeting on April 26.
The program is by our own Larry Crabb. I have not had a chance to
talk with Larry about the program but Jim tells me it will be similar to
the program at convention last summer but geared more to those just getting
started in or still considering digital photography. It should be another
fun and educational evening, we're looking forward to seeing all of you
there.
APRIL CLUB PROGRAM:
The April program on the 26th is "Thinking Small" by Steve Paulson
Steve has two parts to his program - the first is on close-up photography including
